Professional Hitting Instruction

Customized to Player’s Current Stage of Development

Although our Commit To Hit Process is similar, regardless of the player’s age or level of development, there are distinct differences between how we approach youth league players, high school players and players seeking a college athletic scholarship.

Youth League players

The Commit To Hit Process provides youth players solid rotational hitting mechanics so that the player can make solid contact with the ball regardless of the pitch location. The emphasis at this level is hitting for average and not power since youth players do not normally possess the strength and inclination necessary to be a power hitter. However, if the player shows a propensity for power hitting, the program will of course take this into consideration.

The goal at this level is to provide the player with the swing mechanics and the knowledge of how to maintain them that will make him a league leading hitter throughout his youth baseball career. Singles and doubles are the goal at this level, although triples and home runs are often the result. The program has this goal since it is hitting that is most valued by youth league coaches and therefore will earn the player the most playing time and an All-Star team invitation.

At least one parent is required to participate in the program with the player and attend all training sessions. This is to ensure that the player’s parent(s) learn and understand how to create and sustain rotational hitting mechanics, and their role in supporting the player during the program and thereafter.

High School and College Athletic Scholarship Seeking Players

The Commit To Hit Process provides high school players and players seeking college scholarship with the same rotational hitting mechanics taught to youth league players, but at these levels the emphasis is on both hitting for average and power. High school and college coaches value players who can produce runs; and what produces runs most efficiently is power hitting. Even players of smaller stature can hit for power (consider Dustin Pedroia) and our program ensure that every player hits to his power potential.
